Everybody has a little shelf where they display their favorite things. Whether it be books, design objects or other stuff.
We want to see that special stuff. CALLING ALL PEOPLE! Please send us a photo of "your shelf." Send like 4 or 5 of your favorite display items... we will post them and laugh, cry or be envious.
We just got one of these peelers, designed by Karim Rashid for the company Slice. So nice and simple. It's a nice shape and feels good, white plastic surrounded by soft silicone.
Carolla's show (via the podcast) gets me through my day and now it's canceled... this recession officially SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Curse you ... whoever is to blame for this.
Great jacket. I have been checking out all the collections from this fashion month and the one that catches my eye has to be Paul Smith. It's typical stuff for Smith but that's a good thing. It seems that every other designer is over designing a bit but he's keeping it pretty simple... nice fits, good materials, interesting mix of patterns and colors. Check it out.
Last Friday saw the opening of the 800-square foot Black Fleece store in the West Village. The Thom Browne designed line for Brooks Brothers currently has the entire Spring collection on display (it's not a huge store). It is nice to see where this middle ground between classic american cuts and patterns (Brooks Brothers) and the more contemporary and extreme cuts (Thom Browne's Personal Collection) intersects. It's quite wearable and surprisingly not super expensive.
After the crash, Sully called the library to let them know that a book he had checked out was lost in the crash. The subject: professional ethics. Doesn't get better than Capt.Sully!
During my brief Tenure in the City of Los Angeles. One of the few bright spots (aside from the Bright Spot Cafe) was Mister Freedom. Just off Melrose Blvd. was the Mister Freedom shop where you'll find the most incredible albeit expensive selection of vintage military and workwear. A Continuous Lean got some good shots of the store and Mr. himself a while back.
